Orchard Infant School Community Week
HPHA Board members Alan Titheridge and Jill Gower visited Orchard Infant’s school to make a presentation about the heritage of the pier and the challenges of the HPHA restoration projects.
As part of the school’s community week the children decided that they wished to take action to help save the pier for future generations.
The Year 2 pupils crafted postcards, cupcakes and tea light holders which they sold at the Grade II listed pier. On the day, as well as selling their gifts, the children sang to shoppers in Hythe and enjoyed a trip on the Hythe Pier railway.
The children raised £680 pounds for HPHA through all their efforts.
